B&O BeoLab A6

August 25th, 2016
The BeoLab A6 looks good and provides stunning sound - in just about any sized room. It can be wall mounted or stood on a bookshelf as a free-standing speaker. Despite its good looks though, setting it up is a bit of a mission. No instructions are included with the speaker and it has to be connected to a network - wired or wireless in order to be used properly. In addition, users can only really get the full benefit out of it with the B&O app, which means a smartphone or tablet running Android or iOS is needed. It does have volume and skip controls, but its touch and slide operation to adjust the volume is finicky and I often found myself skipping a track when instead I just wanted to turn the sound up. Overall, first time users will have a difficult time setting the device up and a dedicated remote would have been a great addition.
